That’s right: Yoshitaka Amano not only worked as lead art designer on the original Final Fantasy… he was the lead designer on every Final Fantasy game through Final Fantasy VI.

Many of his paintings are of the towns and nature he encountered during his travels after studying painting. So in his selections we see many paintings of Algeria, Paris, and Rouen. Albert Lebourg, of course, painted the customary studies of flowers and a self portrait, but it is that special character of old world towns from a time long ago that truly caught my eye. | See More
