Let’s start with one of my all-time favorites; My Neighbor Totoro. It’s a kid’s movie, made in 1988 no less, and I cherished it as a child. Though I probably assumed all the movies I watched as a kid were made by Disney, something inside me knew that this film was different than Aladdin and The Lion King. For one thing, there were no talking animals, rather it featured a humongous fuzzy grey raccoon/owl hybrid thing that stayed silent throughout.
