When it comes to impressionist painting, I find that most people tend to focus on a few artists with big names almost to the exclusion of all others. Certainly Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Degas, and Pissarro deserve the praise and attention that their work has drawn, but there are many impressionist painters who are undeservedly almost completely ignored.
